STEP 1
To replace this mount you will
need to remove the two bolts
that hold the stock mount to the
upper passenger side frame rail.
(13mm socket and extension) |
|
STEP 2
Place a floor jack under the oil pan.
I suggest a wood block between the
jack and the pan. Jack the engine
up so it is not resting on the engine
mount. |
|
STEP 3
Remove the bolt (15mm) that goes
through the mount, that attaches it
to the engine bracket. Remove the
old mount and replace it with your
new passenger side engine mount. |
|
STEP 4
This photo shows which side should
be up. Take the same steps you did
to take out the stock mount.
Replace the bolt that goes through
the mount and tighten as shown in
step 3. |
|
STEP 5
Lower the jack to let the mount
settle into position. Be careful of
the spacers that go under the
mount tabs if your car came with
them.
If you are using a polyurethane
mount you may not need the spacrs,
as it does not sag like the soft rubber
mount.
Look at the level of the engine to
decide. |
|
STEP 6
Add the two bolts that connect the
mount to the frame rail and tighten.
Again, you may or may not need the
spacers. Check level. |
|
NOTE:
This mount will fit some 1990 cars also,
if your engine mount is the smaller style
like shown in step 4.
1990 was a change over year.
In 1990 they went to a larger mount
for most cars, this mount will not fit the
larger style.
Although installation of the 1990+
mount is done the same way. |
