Polyurethane Coil Spring Isolator
Installation Instructions
(the rear of the car, lower position)
for Front Wheel Drive Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth
cars of the 80's. Applications listed below.
This polyurethane isolator kit should fit:
(E-Body) Dodge 600/NewYorker 1983-1988
(G-Body) Daytona/Laser 1986-1989
(H-Body) Lancer/LeBaron 1985-1989
(K-Body) Reliant/Aries 1982-1989
(P-Body) Shadow/Sundance 1987-1989
(AA-Body) Spirit/Acclaim
(J-Body) LeBaron 1987-1995
The first step is put the car on jack stands
or on a lift where the rear axle can hang
down. Use a support under the rear axle
so that when you unbolt the shocks, you
can lower the axle down to full extension.

Now unbolt both shocks.

TIP: Spray the shock bolts with
penetrant / lubricant before you
try to remove them.

TIP: Most cars I have worked on, this takes
a 15mm socket.

Unbolt both shocks, then lower the axle
to complete extention.

The axle will go down far enough that
the springs will almost be loose in their
perch. Many people fear that a spring
will pop out and hit them. In this case,
that's not going to happen.
Use a pry bar to raise the spring up just a
little. While held up, you can remove the
old rubber isolator. After you remove it,
remove all road grime, rocks, and anything
else that has managed to settle into the
spring perch.

After cleaning the area, slip in the new
PolyBushings.com spring isolator.

Let the spring back down.

Now that you have both isolators in
position, use the jack to raise up the axle into position. You will need to align the
shocks into their slots.

Install the shocks, tighten the two shock bolts. Now you can take the car off the
jack stands, you are done.
