Polyurethane Front Engine Mount
Installation Instructions
(the one under the radiator)
for Front Wheel Drive Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth
cars of the 80's. Applications listed below.
This polyurethane engine mount kit should fit:
(E-Body) Dodge 600/NewYorker 1983-1988
(G-Body) Daytona/Laser 1984-1989
(H-Body) Lancer/LeBaron 1985-1989
(K-Body) Reliant/Aries 1982-1989
(L-Body) Horizon/Omni 1981-1990
(P-Body) Shadow/Sundance 1987-1989
Mini Van 1984-1989
The polyurethane engine
mount comes in two parts.
The kit also includes an inner
sleeve, grade 5 bolt with washers,
nylock nut, and two poly spacing
washers.
This is what the new mount looks
like assembled out of the bracket.
It is solid polyurethane to control,
engine movement, but is not
"hard" to let vibration be a problem.
This photo is what the factory
engine mount looks like.
As you can see, it has gaps
that give the mount room to flex.
Also the hole in the center
(for the mounting bolt) is off set,
needed for more "cushion".
The poly mount's hole is centered.
This makes it easy to install,
you can't get it wrong!
Run car up on ramps or lift car with a jack,
Be safe, USE JACK STANDS.

The first step it to remove the
center mounting bolt.

Now take the front mounting
bracket off the core support.

(15mm socket)

The stock mount has tabs that
keep it centered within the
mounting bracket. One side has
four, the other side has two. Bend
the two tabs out so that the
mount can be pushed out of
the bracket.
You can take a hammer to push
the mount out of the bracket.
A punch or chisel and hammer
can aid in the removal of the
mount.
With the old mount removed from
the bracket, slide in both pieces of
the polyurethane engine mount.
DO NOT use lube, install dry!

Install the center sleeve, push it into
and through the poly mount.

Add the poly spacers to both
sides of the mount, onto the sleeve.
NOTE:
These spacers are shown in orange
but your's may have come in
blue or black.
This is a close up of what the
polyurethane mount looks like
installed into the front mount
bracket.

You may need to use both poly washers
or just one. It depends on your cars
bracket. You also may need to shorten
the center sleeve to meet your cars needs.

Push the bracket that bolts to
the core support over the poly
mount.

Install the bolt, washers, and
nylock nut. Tighten all bolts
and nuts, your done!

NOTE: Front support brackets vary
in width, you may use both poly
spacers or just one. Adjust the inner
sleeve length to your needs.
